Easter: Mutfwang Preaches Peace, Urges Christians To Emulate Christ
Plateau State governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has congratulated the Christians across the world on the occasion of the Easter celebration, callung on them to embrace peace and emulate Jesus Christ.
Governor Mutfwang noted that the celebration commemorates Christ’s redemptive sacrifice and His triumph over sin and death.
Mutfwang, in his Easter message signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, described the celebration as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, centred on the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.
“Each Easter offers us a sacred opportunity to reflect on the foundation of our Christian faith—the death, burial, and glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a time for renewal, deep introspection, and unwavering hope,” the Governor stated.
He charged Christians never to forget the immeasurable price paid on the Cross of Calvary, “where Christ bore our sins and suffered so we might receive forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. His resurrection assures us of victory over sin, despair, and every adversity.”
The Plateau State governor further urged Christians to embrace the spirit of Easter with renewed hope, praying for the Holy Spirit to reveal the profound power and mystery of Christ’s resurrection.
He expressed hope that this season will inspire believers to live righteously, love unconditionally, and serve others selflessly.
Mutfwang commended the strength and dedication of those who observed the Lenten season, encouraging them to uphold the virtues of self-denial, prayer, and reflection, which were essential for spiritual growth and a closer walk with Christ.
The Governor also called on all citizens to commit to fervent prayers for leaders, struggling communities, and Plateau State, trusting God for divine renewal, peace, and progress.
“I remain confident that by God’s grace and mercy, we shall overcome every challenge before us.
“Let us, therefore, pursue peace with all people and work in unity to confront the issues facing us.
“This is the time to rise above our differences and draw strength from our diversity in Christ. Together, let us rebuild and reclaim Plateau, a land of peace, promise, and great potential,” Govenor Mutfwang urged.
