7 Arrested Over Alleged Rape, Killing Of Girl In Bauchi

Police operatives in Bauchi State have arrested a 21-year-old Dallas Ayuba and his peer, Usman Umar, 22 over their involvement in alleged rape and the death of an 18-year-old girl in Fawari, Misau local government area of the state.

The suspects reportedly impregnated their unnamed victim after raping her at different occasions.

Police said a 35-year-old student of AD Rufai College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Abubakar Muhammad was hired by the suspects with the sum of N40,000 to abort the girl’s pregnancy by injecting her.

However, after Mohammed administered the injection on the girl, she fell and became unconscious following which she was admitted at the General Hospital Misau and subsequent referral to Federal Medical Centre, Azare where she was confirmed dead.

Confirming the incident on Thursday, spokesperson of Bauchi State Police Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil said the suspects confessed to their inglorious act and mentioned other accomplices in connection with the case.

He said the identified accomplices arrested include Alkali Kawu, Maule Mai Ride, Mai tomatoes, Danguli, Yakubu and Kura.

Wakil added that the incident was being investigated at the Misau Divisional Police Headquarters.

He assured that Bauchi Police Command remains committed and steadfast in carrying out its statutory responsibility to ensure that justice is served accordingly.

The police spokesperson added that investigation is ongoing, after which the suspects will be profiled and charged to court for the established offences accordingly.
