Sokoto Gov’t Launches Bus Scheme For Students
The Sokoto State Government has introduced subsidised bus service for students across Sokoto, the state capital to ease their transportation challenges.
Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Ahmad Ladan Ala who officially flagged off the scheme said with the initiative, secondary school students who will enjoy subsidised rides at just ₦100.
Ala listed designated pickup points for the students to include Tashar Illela, Remand Home, Gagi Roundabout, Kofar Taramniya Roundabout, Kofar Atiku, Hubbare Roundabout and Dandima Roundabout.
The Commissioner said the initiative was part of the progressive agenda under the 9-Point Smart Agenda of Governor Ahmad Aliyu, and reflected the administration’s commitment to improving students’ welfare.
He added that all drivers assigned to the programme have undergone proper training and instructed to strictly adhere to safety rules and traffic regulations.
He expressed the commitment of the ministry to supporting educational development and creating a conducive learning environment for all students in the state.
