APC Suspends Ex-Lawmaker, 9 Party Officials In Kebbi
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended a former House of Representatives member, who represented Koko/Maiyama Federal Constituency of the State in the House, Muhammad Shehu Koko, along with nine key party officials in Koko Local Government Area, from the party.
Among those suspended are the APC Vice chairman in Koko LGA, Muhammad Danyado; Secretary, Biyaminu Muhammad, and Women Leader, Talatu Zauro. Others included the Youth Leader, Financial Secretary, Welfare Secretary, and several other officials.
According to Channel Television, the suspension detailed in a letter, cited alleged anti-party activities, disloyalty, and harassment of party executives as the reasons for the disciplinary action. The letter was signed by APC chairman in Koko LGA, Muhammad Maibarga, LGA Executive Chairman Sirajo Usman Koko, and 14 other stakeholders.
While close allies of the former lawmaker declined to speak officially, they suggested the move may be connected to his reported ambition to contest for a senatorial seat in 2027, an aspiration said to have caused unease among some APC leaders in the state.
