2027: APC NASS Caucus Endorses Tinubu As Sole Presidential Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the National Assembly has endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 general election.

This followed a motion moved by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and subsequently adopted on Thursday.

Speaking at the APC National Summit held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Akpabio cited President Tinubu’s political wisdom and bold leadership as reasons for the endorsement, declaring that Tinubu had demonstrated the capacity to take difficult decisions for the good of the nation.

“In view of the political sagacity of President Tinubu, I move that he be adopted as the sole candidate of the APC,” Akpabio declared to a thunderous applause. “Because you’ve done some of the difficult things well, I move that as Senate President.”

His motion was swiftly seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who spoke on behalf of the APC Senators and members of the House of Representatives.

“I stand on behalf of the 109 senators and 360 members of the House of Representatives to second this move,” Abbas claimed.
