Tinubu Gave States More Funds To Implement Projects — Gov Eno

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has disclosed that state governments have received more funds from the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to implement projects in their respective states.

The governor also revealed that his strategic alignment with the government at the centre has paid off with more cash allocated to the state for more projects and human capital developments.

Governor Eno, who was inducted as the Patron of the state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), also rallied support for the Tinubu- led federal government.

He urged the Institute to project Nigeria in good light as the ongoing socio-economic reforms were about yielding fruits.

The Governor spoke during the investiture ceremony of the institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Uyo, the state capital.

Governor Eno’s investiture, LEADERSHIP learnt was followed by the re-election of Dr. Ike Neliaku, as President and Chairman-In-Council, along with induction of the state’s Commissioner for Special Duties, Comrade Iniobong Ememobong and 15 others as council members.

Governor Eno promised to abide by the code of conduct governing the Institute and support its ideals.

He appealed to NIPR members to continue projecting Nigeria positively and declared his support for Tinubu’s administration, even as he urged Nigerians to patiently cooperate with the President as he works to change the nation’s fortunes.

Speaking about his administration’s achievements ahead of the May 29, 2025, two years in office, Governor Eno highlighted that numerous projects have been executed without borrowing from financial institutions.

He attributed the availability of funds to strategic and visionary decisions taken by President Tinubu, which have yielded increased revenues and more funds for developmental projects.

Eno also expressed his determination to make the state a tourist destination of choice in the country, citing the ongoing reconstruction of the abandoned 5,000-seater capacity International Conference Centre and a 200-room world-class hotel as indicators of his administration’s commitment to developing the state’s tourism sector.

For his part, re-elected NIPR President, Dr. Neliaku stated that the honour bestowed on Governor Eno was in acknowledgement of his role in promoting the organisation’s code, professional standards, and solemn commitment to creating a more reputation-conscious society.

Addressing the AGM, Neliaku highlighted his administration’s achievements over the past two years, listing them to include digital migration of membership applications, establishment of sectoral hubs, execution of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with various organisations, and the annual Nigeria Spokespersons Summit.
