Oyo Gov’t Connects Water To Ladoke Akintola Int’l Airport

The Oyo State government through the State Water Corporation has commenced the process of connecting potable water to the Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan.

The Executive Chairman of the Corporation, Elias Adeojo disclosed this at a meeting with the Managing Director of Cranebury, a construction company handling the project, Mr. Jonny Sdozine and the Project Manager, Mr. Daniel Sjoud.

Adeojo reiterated that he was acting on the directive of Governor Seyi Makinde, who instructed that necessary steps must be taken to provide potable water to the airport.

He assured that the project will be completed within record time, noting that all required materials have been provided for its execution.

”I met with His Excellency during one of his unscheduled visits to the airport recently where he directed that every step be taken to connect the water pipeline to the airport”, he said.

In another development, the chairman revealed that work had begun on the reconnection of potable water to Agodi Correctional Centre.

He noted that the facility had previously benefited from water supply before its main pipeline was vandalised, leading to disruptions.

However, following the recent replacement of the damaged 100mm UPC water pipeline supplying water to Oke-Adu, reconnection efforts for the Correctional Centre were now underway.

He further explained that more old customers of the corporation would soon be reconnected with the Agodi Correctional Centre as the reconnection was expected to be completed within few days.
