Kano Police Discover Fake AK-47 Rifle At Home Of Suspect In Rano DPO Murder Case
Kano State Police Command has uncovered a fake AK-47 rifle at the residence of one of the suspects arrested in connection with the murder of CSP Baba Ali, the divisional police officer (DPO) of Rano local government area.
Spokesperson of the Command, SP Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a post on his official Facebook page.
According to him, the discovery was made during a search operation at the home of one of the suspects.
“During the search of the house of one of the suspects arrested in connection with the alleged murder of the DPO of Rano, a fake AK-47 rifle was found in his possession,” Kiyawa wrote.
LEADERSHIP reports that CSP Ali was severely injured during a violent unrest following a custodial death of a youth resulting in his death while receiving treatment at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
In the aftermath of the attack, the Command launched an investigation which has so far led to the arrest of 41 suspects identified as playing key roles in the death of the DPO.
