2027: Oyo Justice Forum Endorses Tinubu’s Re-election Bid

The Oyo Justice Forum, a coalition of progressives committed to the advancement of good governance in Oyo State and across the nation, has endorsed the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The decision was reached by members of the Forum across the state at their meeting on Tuesday, in Oyo town of the State.

According to the Coordinator of the group and Director General of National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, and the Secretary, Olufemi Atunbi, the meeting was convened to commemorate the second anniversary of the Tinubu-led administration and deliberate on the nation’s progress.

In a unanimous resolution, the Forum lauded President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, which it said has steered Nigeria towards unprecedented economic reforms, infrastructure development, and international recognition.

“His administration’s bold decisions, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the naira, have set the nation on a path to fiscal sustainability and economic resilience.

“These measures, though challenging, have begun to yield positive outcomes, with a reduction in the fiscal deficit from 5.4% of GDP in 2023 to 3.0% in 2024, as reported by Reuter,” the Forum noted.

It further acknowledged the complexities of these reforms but recognised them as necessary steps to reposition Nigeria within the global economic arena.

The Forum added that the establishment of the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC), chaired by Tinubu also exemplified the President’s commitment to comprehensive economic management and strategic policy implementation

Speaking on security in the country, the Forum maintained that the Tinubu’s administration has made significant strides in combating insurgency and banditry as well as in restoring stability to regions previously plagued by insecurity.

It added that the appointment of Professor Ali Pate as the Minister of Health and Social Welfare has also revitalised the National Health Insurance Authority, expanding coverage and improving healthcare accessibility for Nigerians in unserved and underserved areas.

“Also of note is the introduction of Student loan scheme (NELFund) to ease the challenges Nigerian Students face in accessing quality education,” it noted.

The Oyo Justice Forum also highlighted the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development to harness the potential of the country in livestock production for self- sufficiency, wealth creation and foreign exchange earnings.

It maintained that the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology has started driving innovation, fostering technological advancement, and contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Similarly, the Forum noted that the Ministry of Interior has been better positioned for seamless passports processing with responsive immigration officials that are now delivering better services.

“Recognising these monumental achievements, the Oyo Justice Forum unequivocally endorses President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.

“We believe that a good term deserves another, and his continued leadership is imperative for the realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the sustained progress of Nigeria,” the Forum declared.
