Senator Natasha Alleges Akpabio Made Love Advances as Condition for Moving Motion

Claims Senate Leader Threatened Her Over Disagreement with Akpabio

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has revealed that her ongoing clashes with Senate President Godswill Akpabio stemmed from her refusal to entertain his alleged romantic advances. In an exclusive interview on Arise News Channel’s The Morning Show on Friday, Natasha, who is married to a Delta State-based billionaire businessman, detailed the circumstances that led to her tense relationship with Akpabio.

The Senator’s revelations followed a dramatic altercation between her and Akpabio on the Senate floor last week, which was sparked by a seating dispute. The Senate has since referred the incident to its Ethics and Public Petition Committee for further investigation.

Natasha explained that the issue began in December 2023 during an official visit to Akpabio’s home state of Akwa Ibom. She claimed that during the visit, Akpabio invited her and her husband to tour his private residence in Uyo, the state capital. It was during this tour, she alleged, that Akpabio made an inappropriate comment, suggesting that he could create a space in the house for the two of them to “have fun.”

The Kogi Central Senator also described a separate incident in the Senate, when she attempted to move a motion regarding the Ajaokuta Steel Complex, which lies within her constituency. According to Natasha, Akpabio obstructed her efforts to bring the motion to the floor. She said her colleagues advised her to speak with the Senate President privately to resolve the issue, but when she did, Akpabio allegedly told her she could only proceed with the motion if she “was ready to play ball.”

Natasha further recalled a previous encounter on the Senate floor, during which Akpabio reportedly told her to “behave herself” and reminded her that the Senate was not a “nightclub.” Natasha claimed that this comment was not a slip of the tongue, as Akpabio had previously discussed the idea of having “nightclub” fun with her.

The Senator also alleged that the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, called her at midnight following the recent confrontation with Akpabio. According to Natasha, Bamidele threatened that if Akpabio faced any consequences for his actions, she too would “go down.”

These explosive allegations have added fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding the leadership of the Senate, and Natasha’s accusations have raised serious questions about the conduct of Akpabio and others within the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
