Gov. Buni Approves N297 Million for Ramadan Iftar Feeding Programme
Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved N297 million for the 2025 Ramadan Iftar Feeding Programme, aimed at providing meals for over 51,000 people daily throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative, which is being overseen by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Reorientation, began with the distribution of food items to 102 designated centers across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, Alhaji Yusuf Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Yusuf Hassan Yusuf, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the programme throughout the state. He called on the distribution committee to collaborate closely with traditional and religious leaders to ensure the proper distribution of food items.
Yusuf also confirmed that funds had been allocated for the transportation of the items to the designated centers.
The Commissioner expressed his gratitude to Governor Buni for his continued support of the ministry and his dedication to improving the welfare of the people, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan. He noted that the initiative highlights the governor’s commitment to fostering unity and supporting the less-privileged during this important period.
He also encouraged the people of Yobe State to continue offering their full support and cooperation to the governor for the continued progress of the state.
