BREAKING: Senate Panel Recommends 6-Month Suspension For Kogi Central Senator Natasha

The Senate Committee on Public Conduct, Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions has, on Thursday, recommended the suspension of Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for a period of six months.

Senator Neda Imasuen, the chairman of the Committee, presented the panel’s report at plenary, stating that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was guilty of all the allegations leveled against her. The report cited her failure to submit herself to the legislative committee for the review of her conduct as a significant factor in the recommendation.

Senators are now taking turns to debate the report, with further amendments to the Committee’s recommendations and final adoption pending.

The controversy surrounding the Kogi Central Senator began after a dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements in the chamber. The situation took a new turn when Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Senate President Akpabio of sexual harassment, abuse of office, and other misconduct.

Further details on this developing story are expected soon.
