Youth Development Ministry Partners Flutterwave to Drive Empowerment and Mentorship

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Flutterwave, a leading fintech company, to advance youth empowerment, mentorship, and business skills development in Nigeria.

The signing ceremony, led by the Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, also saw the participation of senior officials, including the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya.

Through this partnership, the Ministry and Flutterwave aim to implement several key initiatives that will provide Nigerian youth with access to training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow small businesses and become successful entrepreneurs.

This collaboration supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its focus on eight priority areas, particularly job creation, youth empowerment, and fostering economic growth.

Flutterwave’s Founder and CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, expressed the company’s dedication to developing sustainable solutions that will empower young Nigerians. He emphasized the company’s commitment to offering opportunities through training, partnerships, and access to business prospects, ensuring a lasting economic impact.

Minister Ayodele Olawande praised Flutterwave’s ongoing contributions to youth-focused initiatives, stating that this partnership is a vital step in realizing President Tinubu’s vision for youth empowerment. He highlighted that key agencies such as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Citizenship & Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) will play an essential role in driving the initiative’s success.

Olawande also noted that this collaboration directly contributes to the achievement of the President’s eight priority pillars, including job creation and economic growth, youth empowerment, industrialization and economic diversification, education and skills development, digital innovation, strengthening national identity, and public-private sector collaboration.

The Minister concluded by emphasizing that the partnership with Flutterwave will significantly enhance the Ministry’s efforts to secure a brighter future for Nigerian youth, positioning them as essential contributors to the country’s economic transformation.
