PDP Will Return to Power in 2027 — Tambuwal

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has expressed strong confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim the presidency from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Tambuwal, who is now a senator, made this statement during the flag-off of the Ramadan package distribution in Sokoto State.

The former governor also revealed that PDP lawmakers at both the state and national levels had initiated the distribution of thousands of bags of rice and other essential grains to youth and women-led organizations, aimed at easing their fasting during the holy month.

“We must recognise the grace of Allah for being alive to witness another Ramadan, despite the many lives lost. We continue to pray for good health and longevity so that we may celebrate many more blessed months of Ramadan,” Tambuwal said.

He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the party chairman and other leaders for their efforts in organizing and mobilizing the people, ensuring the strength and unity of the PDP in Sokoto.

Tambuwal emphasized the importance of party unity, describing the PDP as a “united family” dedicated to regaining what was lost in the previous elections. He claimed that the party’s mandate was “forcefully stolen” in the last election, but assured that the PDP is already restructuring and strategizing to reclaim its rightful place.

“By the grace of Allah, what was taken from us will be returned in 2027,” Tambuwal confidently assured the crowd.

Earlier, the PDP Chairman in Sokoto State, Bello Goronyo, thanked all party members in Sokoto for their unwavering support. He stressed that the PDP remains the only party truly dedicated to the welfare of the Nigerian people.

Goronyo also highlighted the current challenges faced by Nigerians, which, he argued, were non-existent during the PDP’s time in power. He called on the people of Sokoto and all Nigerians to free themselves from what he described as the “misgovernance” of the APC in the upcoming 2027 elections.
