Tinubu Will Secure 2027 Re-election with Ease – Presidency Fires Back at Datti Baba-Ahmed

The Presidency has confidently declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, dismissing recent comments by Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the 2023 Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, as baseless and politically naive.

In a strongly worded response posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, criticized Datti’s recent television appearance, calling his arguments “illogical, empty, and devoid of reason.”

“Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s ‘illogical logic’ was all over the place. His analysis is as unreliable as New Year predictions by charlatan prophets,” Dare wrote.

Mocking Datti’s political acumen, Dare likened his interview to “torment” and said both Datti and his 2023 running mate, Peter Obi, were a “double whammy” Nigeria didn’t need.

“If listening to Peter Obi is punishment, enduring Baba-Ahmed is torment. His reasoning wouldn’t pass in a first-year political science class.”

Dare rejected Datti’s claim that Tinubu’s record would hinder his chances in 2027, saying the former senator conveniently ignored the president’s achievements and reform-driven leadership.

“He deliberately sidestepped President Tinubu’s track record of performance. Instead, he stumbled into territory he clearly doesn’t understand—trying to take on a politician far beyond his league.”

The presidential aide described Datti and other opposition figures as “Presidential Wannabes,” claiming they lack the credibility, experience, and courage required for leadership.

“Politics isn’t for theorists or the faint-hearted—it’s for the bold, the visionary, and the capable. Datti clearly lacks all three.”

He also dismissed allegations that Tinubu had failed to deliver on campaign promises, citing recent economic reforms and international endorsements as evidence of progress. He quoted the IMF, which praised the administration’s efforts:

“Even the IMF recently acknowledged that ‘Tinubu’s reforms have put the economy in a better position to navigate this external environment.’”

Looking ahead to the next election, Dare said Tinubu’s chances remain solid:

“In 2027, Baba-Ahmed and the other hopefuls will need an entire army of marines to defeat President Tinubu.”

In a final jab, Dare advised Datti to step away from public commentary:

“Instead of hopping from one TV studio to another with half-baked opinions, he should focus on reviving his floundering political career. If he’s wise, he’ll stay silent and leave politics to those truly built for it.”
