DSS Arrests 5 Over Alleged Abduction, Murder Of 8-yr-old Girl In Kano
The Kano State Command of the Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested five suspects in connection with the abduction and gruesome murder of an eight-year-old girl, Sakina Mamuda, in the Duhunbake area of Gwarzo local government area of the state.
According to preliminary DSS reports, the suspects allegedly kidnapped the young girl and demanded a ransom from her family.
However, the suspects later strangled the minor and dumped her corpse in a well.
Those arrested in connection with the crime have been identified as Zailani Rabi’u, Hafizu Yusuf Muhd, Abubakar Abdulkarim a.k.a. Danyaro, Umar Lawan Abdullahi, and Amadu Salisu who is also known as Amadi.
Kano State Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Dederi, confirmed the arrests and lauded the DSS for their swift and decisive action which led arrest of all suspects within days of the incident.
Reacting to the tragedy, Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed deep sorrow over the murder, extending his condolences to the bereaved family and the Duhunbake community.
