Police Arrest 4 Suspected Cult Members In Plateau
The Plateau State Police Command, acting on credible intelligence has arrested four suspected cultists at Gidan Mai Naraguta Village, Jos North local government area of the state.
Plateau State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo said the suspects were reported to have been engaged in activities of Black Axe Cult which specialises in terrorising unsuspecting residents of the state.
DSP Alabo said upon the receipt of the intelligence, the Commissioner of Police immediately deployed operatives from the Command’s Anti-Cyber Crime & Narcotics Unit (NCCN) to the area leading to the arrest of one Juventus Danladi, Tina Yaro, Douglas Addra, and Yamusa Justine.
The PPRO disclosed that one locally-made revolver pistol, one locally-made single barrel pistol, two rounds of live 9mm ammunition, one expended shell of the same ammunition, one cartridge, sachets of substances suspected to be cannabis and ice, suspected cult attire with the inscription “7” on it, multiple SIM cards, one Axe, 6 phones, and a Laptop were recovered from the suspects after search on their premises.
According to the state police spokesperson, the case was currently under investigation and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina reiterated the commitment of the police to combating crime and criminality, and maintaining law and order within the state.
He urged people of the state to collaborate with the Police in providing accurate, timely and useful information that will aid the Command in its investigation.
