JAMB Begins Centre Accreditation for 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially initiated the accreditation process for centres participating in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This marks a crucial first step in the preparation for the highly anticipated annual placement examination.

A press statement released on Sunday by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, outlined the procedures for new Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres intending to participate in the upcoming UTME. According to the statement, all interested centres must first visit the official JAMB website to review the guidelines for establishing an approved CBT centre.

He further advised these centres to notify JAMB in writing of their intention to take part in the accreditation process. Notifications should be directed to the Registrar of JAMB through the Zonal Director or State Coordinator in their respective regions.

Requirements for New and Established Centres

For established CBT centres that participated in the 2024 UTME without any issues, they are encouraged to proceed with registration through the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal. New centres will be assisted by the Zonal and State Offices to create accounts on the CMS Portal to facilitate the registration process.

As part of the accreditation, all centres must conduct an Autobot/Autotest, a mandatory procedure that will be scheduled for each centre. This test is a critical part of the preparation for the physical accreditation visit by JAMB’s team. Only centres that successfully complete the Autobot/Autotest and meet all necessary criteria will qualify for a physical accreditation visit.

Accreditation and Approval Timeline

Centres that meet all the specified requirements and pass the Autobot/Autotest will be eligible for the physical accreditation visit, which is set to take place in December 2024. Centres that do not meet the standards during the test will not be reconsidered for accreditation.

JAMB emphasized that only centres that successfully pass the accreditation process will be approved and included in the 2025 UTME registration and examination.

This process underscores the Board’s commitment to ensuring that all centres meet the high standards required to conduct the examination and provide a smooth and efficient testing experience for candidates.
