Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After South Africa Trip
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a visit to Cape Town, South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Tinubu touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:10 PM. He was warmly received by several key figures, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Peter Opara.
The 11th session of the BNC featured discussions across eight working groups, which covered areas of mutual interest such as political consultations, consular and migration issues, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, social sectors, mining and energy, and trade and investments.
During the high-level meeting, officials from both countries signed several Memoranda of Understanding and agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission was established in 1999 to strengthen the friendship and collaborative ties between the two nations.
