Encomiums As DCE Ibrahim Audu Bows Out of Service
The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) held a send-off ceremony for the retired Deputy Commander of the EFCC and former Head of the Legal and Prosecution Department, DCE Ibrahim Audu, on Friday, December 6, 2024.
The ceremony, which took place at the EFCC Benin Conference Room, was an opportunity for officers of the Commission to celebrate Audu’s significant contributions to its growth and success. Acting Zonal Director, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE) I Effa Okim, praised Audu for his instrumental role in securing numerous convictions during his tenure as Head of the Legal and Prosecution Department.
“We want to thank you for your impact and contribution to the Directorate and to the Commission. You did very well while you were here. We say a big thank you and wish you many more fruitful years ahead. You may have retired but certainly you are not tired,” Okim remarked.
In his own message, Francis Jirbo, Acting Head of the Legal and Prosecution Department, expressed appreciation for Audu’s exemplary leadership and the lasting legacy he left behind. “We learned a lot from you when you were here. Thank you for all that you did,” Jirbo said.
Isa K. Agwa, a staff member in the Legal and Prosecution Department, thanked Audu for mentoring young lawyers and instilling confidence in them. “He told us to be bold and courageous, not to be intimidated by other lawyers in court. That has really helped us. He played a crucial role in our growth and development as counsel,” Agwa added.
In his remarks, the retired Deputy Commander expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Commission for the opportunity to serve the nation.
DCE Ibrahim Audu, a pioneer staff of the EFCC, retired in May after reaching the age of 60. His retirement marks the end of a distinguished career in the Commission, leaving behind an enduring legacy of legal excellence and commitment to the fight against corruption.
