MNJTF Troops Repel Attack on Military Base, Kill 10 Terrorists in Cameroon

Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) operating in Sector 1 in Mora, Cameroon, successfully repelled a coordinated attack by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists on a military base in Darak. The assault, which began at dawn on December 18, 2024, saw the extremists launching attacks from multiple directions.

According to a statement by Lt.-Col. Olaniyi Osoba, the Chief Military Information Officer of MNJTF, the troops swiftly engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, killing six militants and forcing the others to retreat with varying degrees of injury.

Five soldiers were wounded in the clash and are currently receiving medical treatment.

Following the initial engagement, troops conducted a follow-up operation, laying an ambush for the fleeing terrorists along their regrouping route in Mazogo, a village located between Zamba and Djibirilli. In this operation, four more terrorists were killed, and several food supplies belonging to the militants were recovered.

This operation brings the total number of terrorists neutralized to 10.

Lt.-Col. Osoba stated that this decisive action underscores the MNJTF’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorist groups and ensuring regional security.
