Man, Wife, Grandson Killed In Ibadan House Fire
Tragedy struck in Ibadan, Oyo State, as a man, his wife, and their grandson lost their lives in a house fire on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 3:46 PM at Ori-Eru, Idikan, in a six-room residential storey building.
According to CSP Olaniyan Jibola of the Mapo Police Division, the fire started when the victims attempted to keep their room warm using a naked flame, likely due to the cold weather.
Upon receiving the report, a team of police officers, supported by officials of Amotekun led by Gbenga Akinyemi from the North West Division, arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control.
The fire resulted in extensive damage and claimed the lives of the three family members, leaving the community in shock.
Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution when using open flames, especially in enclosed spaces, to prevent such tragic incidents.
