Christmas: Tinubu’s Wife Distributes 1,000 Bags of Rice to Bauchi Christians

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed over 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to Christians in Bauchi State as part of this year’s Christmas celebrations, aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship.

The distribution was flagged off on Monday by the Bauchi State Coordinator of the Northern Christians Political Forum, Mr. Ayuba Umar Yelwa, who commended the First Lady for her generosity.

Yelwa stated, “This gesture will significantly support the Christian faithful in celebrating Christmas. Mrs. Tinubu extended the same initiative to other northern states to assist the less-privileged, vulnerable people, and widows during this festive period.”

He added that the First Lady had ensured the delivery of 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to Christian communities in all 19 northern states. “We appreciate Her Excellency Mommy of Nigeria for what she has done to the Christian communities. This support will help alleviate the hardship people are facing across the country,” Yelwa said.

He called on local government coordinators to ensure the rice reached widows, orphans, and the less-privileged in their respective areas.

Beneficiaries Express Gratitude

Elder Bukar Ilya, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries in Bauchi, expressed appreciation for the donation.

“We thank the wife of the President for her thoughtfulness. This rice will go a long way in easing the hardship we are currently experiencing,” he said.

He further emphasized that the gesture would bring joy to many during the Christmas season, especially during such challenging economic times.

The initiative reflects the First Lady’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups across the country, reinforcing her role as a pillar of support for communities in need.
