Christmas: Enugu CP Orders Massive Deployment of Police Personnel, Assets
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has directed the extensive deployment of the Command’s human, operational, intelligence, and traffic management resources to ensure the safety and security of residents, travellers, and returnees during the Christmas celebrations and beyond.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Commissioner emphasized that the deployment aims to create a secure environment across Enugu State during the festive season.
CP Uzuegbu instructed area commanders, divisional police officers (DPOs), and heads of operational and tactical units to intensify visibility patrols in their jurisdictions. The patrols will focus on highways, streets, places of worship, and event venues.
Additionally, he mandated effective traffic management within their areas of responsibility while urging personnel to maintain professional standards and respect the fundamental rights of citizens throughout their operations.
The Commissioner extended his warm festive greetings to the people of Enugu State, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a peaceful celebration.
He also urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, show love, and extend care to the less privileged.
“CP Kanayo calls for vigilance and strict adherence to the law, encouraging the public to promptly report suspicious activities or criminal behavior to the nearest police station,” the statement read.
