49 Suspected Miscreants Nabbed In Lagos Raid
A total of 49 suspects have been arrested by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) in a comprehensive operation across the Ikoyi and Victoria Island areas of Lagos.
The operation, aimed at tackling miscreants, maintaining law and order, and restoring sanity in the state, was launched as part of the Corps’ ongoing efforts to ensure a safer environment.
Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, revealed in a statement that the raid was intended to enforce a safe and orderly environment for both residents and businesses.
He explained, “Over the course of the night, the dedicated operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps patrol team covered key areas such as Idowu Martins, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Akin Adesola, Samuel Manuwa, Muri Okunola, Ajose Adeogun, Lugard Avenue, Macdonald Road, and other parts of Ikoyi and Victoria Island.”
The Commissioner added that the operation focused on enhancing security and maintaining order, aligning with the state’s zero-tolerance for crime and Cleaner Lagos initiative.
“In the course of the patrols, 49 miscreants and illegal street traders were apprehended, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring a safe and orderly environment for residents and businesses,” Wahab stated.
He assured the public that calm and order were gradually returning to Ikoyi and Victoria Island. The Commissioner also commended citizens for their continued cooperation and encouraged them to report any suspicious activities. “Together, we can build safer communities,” Wahab emphasized.
