Edo Government Begins Repair of Failed Sections on Benin-Ekpoma Highway

The Edo State Government has initiated repairs on several deteriorated sections of the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi Highway, delivering on Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to improving the transportation network for smoother movement of people and goods across the state.

The busy highway has been in a state of disrepair for years, subjecting commuters to considerable hardship in their journey to various destinations.

Upon assuming office, Governor Okpebholo made road reconstruction and repairs a priority, assuring Edo residents of improved infrastructure. Within just one month of his administration, he began work on several failed sections of the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi expressway, including areas around Obadan Junction, Upper Mission Extension by Aduwawa Junction, Temboga Road, and Upper Ekenwan Road, among others.

The ongoing repairs also encompass the Ehor-Ekpoma axis, as the governor works to ensure that key routes are in good condition before the onset of the rainy season.

Governor Okpebholo recently visited Uromi, in Esan North-East Local Government, to inspect progress on the 32-kilometer access road to the Federal Science and Technology College, Uromi, which is in various stages of completion.

Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, John Obanor; the Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarrett Tenebe; and other government officials, the governor also toured the Onewa Primary School Road near Utako Junction and other roads in the area.

Residents in these rural communities expressed their gratitude, praising Governor Okpebholo for addressing the long-neglected roads, which had been abandoned for years.
