Blogger Arrested for Cloning DSS Website to Post Fake Recruitment Notice

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Sylvester Victor Augustus, a 32-year-old man from Abak, Akwa Ibom State, for cloning the DSS website and posting a fake recruitment notice intended to deceive the public.

Augustus, a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), who is also a blogger and content creator, was apprehended by DSS operatives on Thursday at his residence in Abak Local Government Area.

A security source confirmed that Augustus will soon be arraigned in court. The source revealed that the suspect had cloned the DSS website and posted a fraudulent recruitment notice to exploit unsuspecting individuals.

As soon as the fake notice was identified, the DSS swiftly issued a public warning, labeling the post as “fake” and advising the public not to fall victim to the fraudulent scheme.
