Boko Haram Terrorists Kill 2 Siblings, Burn Church, Houses in Borno
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched a dawn attack on Bazir village in Chibok Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, killing two brothers. According to credible sources from Chibok, the terrorists also destroyed a church and several residential houses, looting food crops and livestock from the villagers without facing any resistance.
The attack took place early on Sunday while the villagers were still asleep. In addition, the terrorists burned down houses after looting the villagers’ farm produce. One of the residents, Mr. James Ayuba, who escaped unharmed, expressed relief but also voiced concern over the safety of the community. He called on the government and security agencies to urgently address the escalating violence in Southern Borno, stressing that the people, especially those in Chibok, deserve peace and protection.
This attack follows another assault by terrorists on January 2, when Njilang village in the same Chibok LGA was attacked, displacing the entire community, which is now seeking refuge in safer locations.
Human rights activist Mr. Allamson Ayuba, also from Chibok, condemned the attack and appealed to the Nigerian government and military to protect the people of Chibok and surrounding areas from further terrorist assaults and destruction.
At the time of this report, neither the Borno State government, military, nor other security agencies had issued a statement regarding the attack.
