Police Arrest 2 for Alleged Sodomy and Criminal Intimidation of Minors in Bauchi
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with separate cases of sodomy and criminal intimidation involving minors.
First Arrest: Aminu Musa
According to a statement from the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the first suspect, 41-year-old Aminu Musa from Sabon Garin Narabi, is accused of engaging in unnatural sexual activity with an 11-year-old boy named Hassan. The suspect allegedly lured the boy into his room, located next to the shop where he worked as a shopkeeper, and engaged in sexual acts with him on multiple occasions.
The police were notified of the incident on December 30, 2024, and officers from the Tilden Fulani Divisional Police Headquarters were dispatched to arrest the suspect. During questioning, Musa confessed to the crime and explained how he had manipulated the young victim by giving him food and money (N300, N200, and N100) to gain his trust and exploit him.
Second Arrest: Adamu Abdullahi
In a related case, on December 31, 2024, a complaint was filed at the ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters in GRA Bauchi, regarding another incident of sodomy. The suspect, 38-year-old businessman Adamu Abdullahi, also known as “Baban Bola,” allegedly accosted a 10-year-old boy, Garba (name withheld for privacy), while he was hawking goods. Abdullahi reportedly intimidated the boy, forced him into an uncompleted building, and raped him.
Upon receiving the complaint, detectives from the GRA Division arrested Abdullahi, who confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Firearms Arrests
In a separate operation, two individuals, Abubakar Yakubu and Almustapha Hassan, were arrested on January 8, 2025, after police intelligence revealed they were in possession of locally-made firearms. Officers, working with the Peace and Security Committee, located the suspects’ residence and conducted a search, during which they discovered two fabricated pistols hidden in the ceiling.
During questioning, Yakubu and Hassan admitted to purchasing the firearms from an anonymous source in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi. The suspects also confessed to using the firearms for multiple robbery operations. They revealed that their primary targets were the Gwallaga and Behind NIDB areas of Bauchi, where they would steal motorcycles and household items, including pots. These stolen goods were then sold at Muda-Lawal Market.
Recovery of Stolen Items
The police recovered several items from the suspects, including two fabricated pistols, two motorcycles, one machete, two ATM cards, and a ring. The suspects claimed to have used the proceeds from their robberies to purchase the motorcycles.
Police Appeal
The Commissioner of Police in Bauchi, CP Auwal Mohammed, has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
