Nine Family Members Killed in Benue Truck Accident

Tragedy struck in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State as nine members of the same family were killed when a truck, reportedly due to brake failure, rammed into their home early Thursday morning.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue State confirmed the incident. Public Relations Officer Ngozi Ahula stated that the truck lost control and veered into the residential compound at Okete Village, where the family members were asleep at the time of the crash.

The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, also confirmed the heartbreaking news, adding that all nine family members died on the spot.

An eyewitness shared that the crash occurred in the early hours of the day, while the victims were still in their home. Authorities have since launched a full investigation into the incident.

The police have promised to provide further updates on the matter as they continue their investigation into the cause of the tragic accident.
