The inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States on Monday was a star-studded affair, with influential figures from the worlds of technology, media, and politics gathering at the Capitol Rotunda to witness the historic event.
Among the high-profile guests were some of the biggest names in global technology. Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, were all seen in prime positions behind Trump’s family members.
Also present were Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez, as well as Trump’s Cabinet nominees, including Senator Marco Rubio and independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The event also attracted media personalities and public figures, including podcaster Joe Rogan and media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who were seen mingling with fellow guests. Social media stars Jake and Logan Paul engaged in conversation with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, while comedian Theo Von was spotted chatting with Logan Paul.
In addition, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel were among the dignitaries in attendance. Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was also present, seated alongside Bezos and Sanchez during the morning church service before the formal inauguration ceremony.
The impressive lineup of attendees underscores the increasing influence of the tech industry and its strong ties to Trump’s administration following his electoral win. This gathering of tech leaders and political figures highlights the shift toward a “tech-industrial complex,” which former President Joe Biden had warned about in his farewell address.
