Motorcyclist Dies, Others Injured as Vehicle Rams into Pharmacy in Oyo

A tragic accident occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, when an overspeeding black Mercedes saloon car crashed into a pharmaceutical store, resulting in the death of an unidentified motorcyclist. The incident took place around 2 PM on Saturday at Osuntokun Junction, opposite Zenith Bank in the Bodija area of Ibadan.

The impact of the crash destroyed the pharmacy and also damaged two vehicles parked in front of the store. According to an eyewitness, the Mercedes, which was speeding along Osuntokun Avenue, veered off the main Bodija-UI Road and slammed directly into the pharmacy. The motorcyclist, who was dropping off a passenger at the pharmacy, was killed instantly.

“The driver of the Mercedes was severely injured and was rushed to University College Hospital (UCH),” the eyewitness said.

The body of the motorcyclist was recovered from the wreckage and also taken to UCH morgue. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
