Kano Commissioner Demands Recall of Rep Member Over Alleged Poor Representation
Kano State’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has called for the recall of Hon. Ali Sani Madakin Gini from the National Assembly, accusing him of failing to adequately represent the people of Dala federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Waiya made the call during a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Dala Local Government Area chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). The commissioner expressed dissatisfaction with Madakin Gini’s performance and suggested that his alleged deviation from the interests of his constituents warranted his removal from office.
“The people of Dala Local Government deserve better representation. The recall of Hon. Madakin Gini is necessary to address the needs and concerns of our constituents,” Waiya said.
He highlighted the political importance of Dala Local Government, noting that the area is home to the highest number of commissioners in the Kano State Executive Council and the majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly.
LEADERSHIP recalls that Madakin Gini had publicly renounced the Kwankwasiyya ideology last year, but did not formally resign from the NNPP. He announced his intention to create a new movement, citing his loss of faith in the Kwankwasiyya ideals.
Waiya argued that Madakin Gini’s actions signified a lack of commitment to the electorate who had voted him into office, stating, “Madakin Gini has clearly stated he is no longer a part of the people who championed and voted for him. Therefore, there is no need for him to continue in this post when he isn’t representing the interests of the people of Dala. Once the party leadership agrees, I am ready to start the recall process.”
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Alhaji Lawan Husaini Dala, chairman of Dala NNPP; Alhaji Dayyab Ahmad Maiturare, Kano State Commissioner of Environment; and Hon. Suraj Kwankwaso, among others.
