Kano Commissioner Demands Recall of Rep Member Over Alleged Poor Representation
Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has called for the recall of Hon. Ali Sani Madakin Gini from the National Assembly, accusing him of failing to adequately represent the people of Dala federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Waiya expressed his dissatisfaction with Madakin Gini’s performance during a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Dala Local Government Area chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). He stated that Madakin Gini’s alleged deviation from the ideals and interests of his constituents justified his removal from office.
“The people of Dala Local Government deserve better representation. The recall of Hon. Madakin Gini is necessary to address the needs and concerns of our constituents,” Waiya said.
The commissioner also highlighted the political importance of Dala Local Government Area, noting its distinction as having the highest number of commissioners in the Kano State Executive Council, as well as the majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly.
It is worth noting that Madakin Gini publicly renounced the Kwankwasiyya ideology last year but did not officially resign from the NNPP. He announced plans to create a new movement, citing his loss of faith in Kwankwasiyya principles.
Waiya criticized Madakin Gini’s actions, arguing that they demonstrated a lack of commitment to the voters who had supported him. “Madakin Gini has clearly stated he is no longer a part of the people who championed and voted for him. Therefore, there is no need for him to continue in this post when he isn’t representing the interests of the people of Dala. Once the party leadership agrees, I am ready to start the recall process,” Waiya concluded.
The meeting saw the attendance of key figures, including Alhaji Lawan Husaini Dala, chairman of Dala NNPP; Alhaji Dayyab Ahmad Maiturare, Kano State Commissioner of Environment; and Hon. Suraj Kwankwaso.
