BREAKING: Court Sacks Ohinoyi of Ebira Land
A Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja has removed Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje from the royal stool of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
Anaje, who was appointed as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland by former Governor Yahaya Bello in January 2024, was ordered by the court to cease parading himself as the paramount traditional ruler of the Ebiraland.
The ruling was delivered on Monday by Hon. Justice Salisu Umar, the presiding judge of High Court 6 in Lokoja. The case, Suit Number HCO/05C/2024, was filed by Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others, challenging the appointment made by the outgoing governor.
At the time of writing, the full details of the judgment were not yet available, and attempts to reach Alhaji Anaje for comment were unsuccessful as his phones were switched off.
