IGP Appoints CP Shogunle As Head Of Special Intervention, Safe School Squads

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed Commissioner of Police (CP) Abayomi Shogunle to lead the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), the Elections Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation team, and the Safe School Protection Squad.

As part of his strategy to bolster security, especially in the nation’s inland waterways, the IGP also appointed CSP Chima Ogarashi as the new Force Marine Officer (FMO).

CP Shogunle brings a wealth of experience in operations and public relations, along with multiple certifications in various capacities. He will head the SIS, focusing on addressing critical security challenges, while also overseeing the Elections Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation efforts, and ensuring the safety of schools.

CSP Ogarashi, who now leads the Force Marine Officer role, will utilize his expertise in maritime security to enforce laws and oversee security operations on Nigeria’s waterways.

According to the Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, these appointments come at a pivotal moment, as the police prepare to unveil 25 newly acquired gunboats, alongside additional maritime safety equipment aimed at improving security operations along the country’s waterways.

IGP Egbetokun reassured the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to addressing security threats and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.
