JUST-IN: Atiku Holds Private Meeting With Obasanjo In Abeokuta
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday afternoon at Obasanjo’s residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. Atiku arrived at the residence, located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), around 12:37 pm. He was accompanied by the former governors of Sokoto and Cross River states, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Senator Liyel Imoke, along with other prominent political figures from northern Nigeria.
Upon arrival, Atiku and his entourage were welcomed by elder statesman Otunba Oyewole Fasawe before proceeding upstairs for a private meeting with Obasanjo, who had been awaiting their visit.
The specifics of the discussions remain unclear, but sources suggest the meeting may be related to Atiku’s presidential ambitions ahead of the 2027 general election. As of 1:00 pm, the meeting was still ongoing.
