Musk Slams FEMA For Paying $59m To Luxury Hotels To Accommodate Illegal Migrants
Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has alleged that the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently spent $59 million to house illegal migrants in luxury hotels in New York City.
Musk, who is an ally of former President Donald Trump, made the announcement on Monday via his X (formerly Twitter) account, citing findings from his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
He criticized the expenditure as both illegal and a direct violation of President Trump’s Executive Order.
LEADERSHIP recalls that Trump signed an Executive Order to establish a council to review FEMA, citing concerns about “serious political bias” within the agency.
FEMA, established in 1979, is responsible for providing financial assistance to individuals and households affected by disasters, focusing on those with uninsured or underinsured essential needs.
Musk condemned FEMA’s actions, saying, “Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high-end hotels for illegals,” he wrote on X.
He also confirmed that a “clawback demand” would be issued to recover the misallocated funds.
