Police Declare Singer Portable Wanted Over Alleged Assault on Ogun Government Officials
Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Olalomi, better known as Portable, has been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command following allegations that he led a violent attack on government officials while they were performing their duties.
According to a statement released by the Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at around 10 a.m. Portable is accused of leading an assault against officials from the Ota Zonal Office of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The affected officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered an elderly man identified as Portable’s father at the Odogwu Bar, a property owned by the singer.
The officials introduced themselves to the elderly man, who informed them that his son was not around. However, moments later, Portable arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and accompanied by nine other thugs. They launched an attack on the unarmed officials.
The enforcement officers sustained injuries during the attack but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was then escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
While the nine accomplices involved in the attack were arrested, Portable managed to flee the scene and has since gone into hiding.
Odutola stated that several formal invitations were extended to Portable, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, but the singer ignored these requests and failed to provide any legal representation.
As a result of his continued evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring Portable wanted. The police are now calling on the public to assist in locating the singer, warning that anyone who aids or harbors him will face legal consequences.
