Afenifere Leader Ayo Adebanjo For Burial May 3
The remains of Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, a prominent nationalist and factional leader of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on behalf of the family by Ms. Ayotunde Ayo-Adebanjo, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, and Mr. Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo.
The burial proceedings are set to begin on Wednesday, April 30, with a Day of Tributes and Service of Songs at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos. The wake-keep service will be held on Friday, May 2, at Pa Adebanjo’s country home in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode.
The burial service will take place on Saturday, May 3, at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, followed by a thanksgiving service on Sunday, May 4, at the same church.
The late Pa Adebanjo was known for his long-standing contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape and his leadership within the Yoruba community.
