VP Kashim Shettima Chairs 147th Meeting of National Economic Council (NEC)
Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently presiding over the 147th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja. The meeting is attended by governors, deputy governors from all 36 states, as well as various ministers, agency heads, and presidential aides.
During the previous NEC meeting (146th), held three weeks ago, the Council directed three states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to submit reports on the establishment of state police within one week. It also raised concerns over the new Tax Reform Bills, urging President Bola Tinubu to withdraw them for more extensive consultations before proceeding further.
