PICTORIAL: Benin Electoral Commission Visits INEC to Study Nigeria’s Electoral System
The Autonomous National Electoral Commission of Benin (CENA), led by its President, Dr. Sacca Lafia, visited the headquarters of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Monday.
The 12-member delegation included National Commissioners, Directors, and other key staff of CENA, who were hosted by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and other officials.
Purpose of the Visit
The delegation’s visit focused on gaining insights into Nigeria’s electoral processes, procedures, and best practices as part of preparations for the 2026 general elections in Benin Republic.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and his team welcomed the delegation warmly, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to sharing knowledge and experiences to strengthen democracy across the region.
